| HOME PAID ATTRACTIONS WHAT'S ON | ALLOA TOWER Recently restored, the tower dates back to 1497 and is the only remaining part of the ancestral home of the Earls of Mar. It was splendidly remodelled by the 6th Earl, partly completed before his exile, after the 1715 Jacobite uprising. Of special interest are the original oak roof beams, medieval groin vaulting, a pit dungeon and the original internal well. Alloa Tower Website
