OLD TOWN JAIL

Victorian jail built in 1846 to replace the notorious Tolbooth Prison. 'Living History' actors invite you on a tour of the jail. Meet the inmates, see the solitary cells and hard labour punishments by which the Victorians sought to correct the morals of sinners. A glass elevator leads to a viewing deck on top of the jail, giving fine views over the Old Town.
